Ron started his working career as a professional musician during the very early years of Rock & Roll music. He performed for live audiences at approximately 420 events over an 8-year period and worked in the record industry. He recorded approximately 25 original songs, several of which became hits. He is listed in the Rockabilly Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville, Tennessee as one of the “Legends that helped create Rock and Roll Music”. Although Ron no longer performs as a musician, he still loves to share his memories and experiences with others.
Ron Meeks has also continuously researched the American Civil War throughout his life. He has discovered and researched several surprising personal connections to that war and documented his findings. He has visited more than 50 battlefields and museums. Ron has approximately 200 non-fiction Civil War publications and personal war records of several ancestors and others. He has also obtained personal letters, diaries and other source docs. He shares his knowledge and experience to help guide others that want to perform similar research of ancestors, etc.
Ron Meeks has given presentations relating to these subjects at approximately 60 events over many years at various locations throughout the Valley. These engagements included business and entertainment events.
Originally from Akron Ohio, just a few miles from the birthplace of Rock and Roll, Ron and his wife Maureen moved to Phoenix in 1965 for the dry, clean desert air.
Ron has three children. The oldests is a psycho-therapist and an author, the middle is a college professor, and the youngest is an international corporate executive.
He has seven grandchildren and recently welcomed his first great-grandchild.
Ron worked 60 years in commerce law, finance, regulation and deregulation. His practice included legislative, regulatory and court room proceedings with primary emphasis in cost analysis, profitability and pricing. He developed analytical software for government agencies and businesses throughout the United States to facilitate these activities. His projects involved many business organizations and more than 30 government agencies. Ron has participated in hundreds of legal proceedings both as a practitioner and as an expert witness. He testified 127 times before courts, government agencies, legislatures and the U. S. Congress.
